The Punjab government has introduced a transformative initiative for farmers, the Green Tractor Scheme, aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and providing financial support to those in need. Under this scheme, 9,500 farmers will each receive a subsidy of one million rupees towards the purchase of new tractors, enabling them to cultivate their lands more efficiently.
Recently, the Chief Minister inaugurated this initiative with a personal inspection of several tractor models, even taking one for a test drive and expressing enthusiasm for the program’s impact on local agriculture.
Announcement of Recipients through Balloting
The scheme follows a transparent balloting process to ensure fair distribution of benefits. After the balloting, initial recipients were announced, highlighting the impact across various regions. For instance, Mohammad Yasin from Okara, Talib Hussain from Chakwal, and Ghulam Akbar from Dera Ghazi Khan were among the first beneficiaries.
The scheme has dedicated specific tractor allocations for different districts, including 339 recipients in Okara, 111 in Chakwal, and 276 in Dera Ghazi Khan, to promote balanced development across Punjab’s agricultural regions.
Verifying Your Selection Status
Recipients of the Green Tractor Scheme can verify their selection through the official Punjab Agriculture Department’s website, where the winner list is posted. Additionally, names of successful candidates are also available on the “CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme” portal.
To ensure that all farmers have easy access to information, the lists are also displayed outside the relevant Deputy Commissioner or Agriculture Department offices.
